If you could try a different job for a day, what would you choose?

I would be an architect. I think it would be fun to design spaces where people live and work. The opportunity to combine beauty and function sounds rewarding to me. I imagine there is great satisfaction seeing your designs come to life for people to enjoy for years.

What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

I would advise someone to choose a company and job that excites them. It is important to be excited about your work and ignite the passion to be your best. I would encourage someone starting out to be curious not only in learning their role but also in understanding what other people do in their jobs and their journey. I would encourage them to be aware of how they ‘show up’ because it is your reputation and brand you are building.

What is your mantra?

Treat others as you want to be treated.

How do you get yourself out of a slump?

If I am in a slump, I spend time with family and close friends. I am fortunate to have wonderful people in my life that remind me about what is truly important, and they always show up when I need them.

What companies or leaders do you admire?

I have had the opportunity to work with great leaders throughout my career. What I have learned is that leadership comes in many forms. The leaders I admire most act with great integrity, care about employees, have humility, are authentic and passionate about what they do.

What has been the biggest shift you’ve noticed in your industry in the last decade?

The biggest shift I have seen in Accounting and Finance is the expectation that we are business partners providing thought leadership and an ability to efficiently leverage data to drive transformation in organizations. This is an exciting time to be Accounting and Finance.

Who has been most instrumental in your career?

I have two sisters that are amazing business leaders. They are my confidants and trusted advisors as I have navigated my career. They provide the right balance of support and challenge as only sisters can do for each other.

What is your go-to celebration meal, drink or tradition?

I love having family over for great food on the grill to celebrate whether it is steak or burgers it is really about celebrating with family.
